Who Agrify is and what it made

Agrify Corporation was a Nevada company, incorporated in 2016 as Agrinamics, Inc., that made Vertical Farming Units (VFUs) and Agrify Insights cultivation software and, from late 2021, extraction equipment under the Precision Extraction, Cascade Sciences, PurePressure and Lab Society brands. It no longer sells equipment: it sold its cultivation business on December 31, 2024, discontinued its extraction business on March 30, 2025, and changed its name to RYTHM, Inc. on September 2, 2025.

RYTHM trades on the Nasdaq Capital Market as RYM, is based in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and describes its business as hemp derived THC products and licensed consumer brands. Its 2025 annual report covers the change. Urth & Fyre sources and quotes Agrify equipment on request and lists one Cascade oven.

What Agrify made: the product lines

The VFU was an enclosed grow chamber with its own climate control. Agrify's 2021 annual report describes an 8 foot tall working area with two rows of plants, units that stack up to three high, LED lighting, and a water chilled fan coil that holds temperature within 1.5°F in cooling, circulating or dehumidifying mode. Sensors sampled temperature, humidity and CO2 every minute.

Each VFU shipped with an Agrify Insights license priced at $2,400 to $3,600 per unit per year in 2021, and the report states that a VFU cannot operate successfully without the software. Agrify also sold a total turnkey (TTK) package that bundled design, buildout, VFUs, software and training, typically on ten year terms.

The extraction side came from four acquisitions:

  • Precision Extraction: hydrocarbon extraction systems, acquired October 1, 2021.
  • Cascade Sciences: vacuum purge and decarboxylation ovens and other lab equipment, acquired October 1, 2021.
  • PurePressure: solventless extraction, rosin presses and ice water hash processing equipment, acquired December 31, 2021.
  • Lab Society: distillation and solvent separation systems run by its EliteLab software, acquired February 1, 2022.

Where Agrify equipment fits by facility stage

Agrify aimed the VFU at indoor facilities of 20,000 to 50,000 square feet. Its 2021 model put 253 VFUs in a 20,000 square foot building to match 16,200 square feet of conventional canopy, so the units suit operators who want stacked, chamber level control in a building with limited floor area.

The extraction brands span the processing floor. Precision hydrocarbon systems and Lab Society distillation belong in a licensed extraction lab with the right room classification, while Cascade ovens and PurePressure presses serve post processing and solventless rooms. A buyer today is choosing used units from a product line with no original manufacturer behind it.

How to evaluate used Agrify equipment

For a VFU, start with the software. Agrify Insights went to CP Acquisitions, LLC, an entity affiliated with former Agrify chairman and CEO Raymond Chang, in the December 2024 sale, according to Agrify's closing announcement. Confirm with the current owner of that software that a license is available before you buy chambers.

Next, check utilities. The VFU's fan coil runs on chilled water, so you need a chiller plant and piping sized for the number of units, plus ceiling height and structure for stacking.

For extraction equipment, the March 2025 Form 8-K states that the board approved discontinuing the hydrocarbon, alcohol, solventless, post processing and lab equipment business, and a later filing says operations ceased March 31, 2025. Collect manuals, pressure vessel documents, software licenses and service records from the seller, and plan your own acceptance tests. Our Cannabis Extraction Equipment Guide covers what to test by system type.

Agrify compared with alternatives

A VFU puts lighting, airflow and climate control inside each chamber. A conventional flower room handles those at room level with central HVAC, dehumidifiers and fixtures that can be replaced from many suppliers. The VFU trades that supplier choice for tighter per chamber control and a software dependency.

For vacuum ovens, Urth & Fyre has a Cascade Science CVO-5-L vacuum oven in stock from the same Cascade line Agrify owned. For hydrocarbon, distillation and solventless gear, compare a used Agrify era unit against current models from makers that still offer parts and service.

Buying or selling Agrify equipment through Urth & Fyre

Tell us which Agrify, Precision, PurePressure, Lab Society or Cascade unit you want, with model, size and utilities, and we will search for units and quote what we find. If you own Agrify era equipment you no longer run, list it through Sell Equipment.

To start, request a quote, or view the Cascade CVO-5-L listing above for an oven you can buy now.

  • Confirm software access before buying a VFU. Agrify's 2021 annual report says a VFU cannot operate successfully without Agrify Insights, and the software went to CP Acquisitions, LLC in the December 2024 sale.
  • Plan chilled water for VFUs. Each unit's fan coil runs on chilled water, so size the chiller and piping to the number of chambers.
  • Check ceiling height and structure. VFUs have an 8 foot working area and stack up to three units tall.
  • Expect no manufacturer warranty or factory service. The extraction business ceased operations on March 31, 2025, and the cultivation business was sold in December 2024.
  • For Cascade ovens, Detroit Dispensing Solutions announced in June 2025 that it provides service and replacement parts for existing Cascade equipment.
  • For Lab Society systems, confirm that the EliteLab control software, licenses and controller hardware come with the unit.
  • For hydrocarbon systems, get the pressure vessel documents and any engineering review paperwork your jurisdiction requires before you move the unit.

    FAQ —

    Agrify questions

    Is Agrify still in business?

Agrify Corporation still exists as a company but under a new name and business. It changed its name to RYTHM, Inc. on September 2, 2025, trades on Nasdaq as RYM, and now sells hemp derived THC products and licensed brands. It sold its cultivation business in December 2024 and discontinued its extraction equipment business in March 2025.

What happened to Agrify's vertical farming units?

Agrify sold its cultivation business on December 31, 2024, to CP Acquisitions, LLC, an entity affiliated with former chairman and CEO Raymond Chang. The sale covered the VFUs, the total turnkey solution assets and Agrify Insights software. CP took on related liabilities and two convertible notes it held, about $7 million, were terminated. Contact that entity about current support.

What happened to Precision Extraction, PurePressure, Lab Society and Cascade Sciences?

All four were part of Agrify's extraction business, which its board voted to discontinue on March 30, 2025, with operations ending March 31. The filings do not say whether the brands were sold. For Cascade ovens, Detroit Dispensing Solutions announced in June 2025 that it offers service and parts for existing Cascade equipment.

    What is an Agrify VFU?

An Agrify Vertical Farming Unit is an enclosed grow chamber with LED lighting, a water chilled fan coil and sensors, run through Agrify Insights software. Each unit has an 8 foot tall working area with two rows of plants, and units stack up to three high. Agrify's 2021 model fit 253 units in a 20,000 square foot building.

Can I still buy Agrify equipment?

Not from the original company, which no longer sells equipment. Buyers today are looking at used or surplus VFUs and extraction units. Urth & Fyre can search for a specific Agrify, Precision, PurePressure, Lab Society or Cascade unit on request and quote what we find, and we stock a Cascade Science CVO-5-L vacuum oven.

    What is RYTHM, Inc.?

RYTHM, Inc. is the new name of Agrify Corporation, effective September 2, 2025. Based in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, it sells hemp derived THC products, including the Señorita beverage brand, and licenses brands such as RYTHM, Dogwalkers, Beboe and incredibles that it acquired from subsidiaries of Green Thumb Industries in 2025. It no longer makes cultivation or extraction equipment.
