Paxiom Group builds weigh filling, bagging, wrapping and end of line packaging machines, plus Canapa pre-roll lines. Owned by ATS since 2024.
Paxiom Group is a Montreal, Quebec builder of primary, secondary and end of line packaging machines for food and beverage, cannabis and pharmaceutical producers. ATS Corporation, the Cambridge, Ontario automation company listed on the TSX and NYSE, announced on July 24, 2024 that it had completed its acquisition of Paxiom.
When ATS announced the deal in May 2024, it described Paxiom as a group of about 200 employees with manufacturing in Montreal, Miami, Schio in Italy and Shanghai, and an integration center and showroom in Las Vegas. The group's companies named in that release were WeighPack Systems, EndFlex, Valtara and Kang-Di. Its machines cover precision weigh filling, bagging, wrapping, labeling, conveying, case forming, robotic case packing and palletizing. Urth & Fyre specifies and supplies new Paxiom and Canapa equipment and lists used units when they come to market.
Canapa is the cannabis packaging line that Paxiom markets as Canapa by Paxiom, operating from Las Vegas. Its press materials describe Canapa as a designer, manufacturer and integrator of automated packaging machines for the legal cannabis and hemp industries, and Paxiom executives speak for its product launches.
The core Canapa products are pre-roll machines and NTEP certified weighing. The JuanaRoll runs from 1 to 8 channels; Canapa rates one channel at up to 4,000 pre-rolls per 8 hour shift and eight channels at up to 32,000. The JuanaOne is a single operator work center rated at up to 500 joints per hour in under 5 square feet, and the JuanaRoll-1 is rated at up to 750 pre-rolls per hour. In 2023 the JuanaRoll and JuanaOne received NTEP Certificates of Conformance in Accuracy Class II from the National Conference on Weights and Measures.
Downstream, Canapa added pre-roll tube and tray loading in 2022 and the JuanaPack tube and tray packing machine in 2025. At MJBizCon 2025 it showed the Vision360 pre-roll inspection system, the SuperSelect semiautomatic combination weigher, the Spindexer HS container filler, the PrimoCombi with Swifty 3600 pouch system and the Sleek 40 flow wrapper for edibles and gummies.
Packaging rooms are often drawn last and sized wrong. Lay out the line first: infeed, weighing, filling, sealing, labeling and case packing, with space for operators and changeover carts. Our cannabis packaging equipment guide covers line design and cost.
Hand rolling and hand weighing hit a labor ceiling first. A JuanaOne or JuanaRoll-1 automates one pre-roll lane; a multichannel JuanaRoll and a PrimoCombi weigher move a facility toward a full line. Check net contents control early, because weight accuracy is what regulators and retailers audit.
Paxiom's broader catalog matters once a site packs flower, gummies and beverages on shared floor space. Flow wrapping, vertical bagging and end of line case packing come from the same group, so one supplier relationship can cover several lines.
Operators usually compare three levels. Manual cone filling with hand checkweighing has the lowest capital cost and the highest labor per unit. A single lane machine such as the JuanaOne or JuanaRoll-1 automates weighing, filling and compacting for one operator. A multichannel JuanaRoll with tube or tray loading moves toward a line where operators supervise rather than handle each unit.
Within weighing, the SuperSelect is positioned as a semiautomatic combination weigher for dry flower, while the PrimoCombi is the automatic multihead option tied into pouch or jar filling. For pre-roll inspection, Vision360 adds automated checks that would otherwise be done by hand. Our post on NTEP checkweighing covers how to set reject limits that prevent overfill.
Urth & Fyre specifies and supplies new Paxiom and Canapa machines inside a packaging line design, and sources and quotes them against your SKU list and shift targets. We also list used Canapa equipment when operators sell. Current listings include a JuanaRoll 4 channel pre-roll machine. ATS documents the ownership change in its May 2024 acquisition release and July 2024 closing release, and Canapa's 2025 lineup is summarized by Cannabis Equipment News.
